Flame Welding is done by heating the metal to be welded with a
reducing flame, to a temperature just below the
melting point. this causes the surface of the metal
to begin flowing,and the contact points flow
together and weld.

Fire Polishing is done by heating the metal to be polished with a
reducing flame, to a temperature just below the
melting point. this causes the surface of the metal
to begin flowing, the metal is then allowed to cool
in a reducing atmosphere.
